Refresh Mental Health Acquires Cielo House in San Francisco Bay Area

Refresh Mental Health, a proprietor of outpatient mental health, substance abuse and eating disorder practices in 20 states, has acquired Cielo House, an eating disorder treatment center with four facilities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mertz Taggart served as merger and acquisition advisor to Cielo House in the deal.

Cielo House was founded in 2010 by Matt Keck, MFT, and Sofia Keck. It was the first eating disorder-focused PHP/IOP program on the San Francisco peninsula, and as part of its expansion to four facilities, the organization now also offers residential treatment.

In a news release announcing the deal that brings Refresh to the West Coast and gives the company’s clinics a presence in the San Francisco metro area, CEO Steven Gold Refresh plans to expand Cielo House’s teletherapy and telemedicine capabilities.
