HealthEast, UHS collaborate on expansion in Minnesota

HealthEast and Universal Health Services (UHS) have announced a collaboration on a plan to expand inpatient mental health services at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. The expansion is scheduled to be completed later this year. HealthEast provides mental health and addiction services in the East Metro area of the Minneapolis-St. Paul region, and the expansion project will increase the organization’s mental health inpatient care capacity by 50%, with the ability to serve 105 adult and geriatric psychiatric patients.

HealthEast provides family health and specialty programs in the region through its four hospitals, 14 clinics, home care and medical transportation services.

UHS provides mental health services in more than 290 behavioral health facilities in the U.S. and abroad, and its subsidiaries own and/or operate more than 320 acute care hospitals and behavioral health facilities.
