Six Hurt in Pa. When School Bus, Minivan Collide
PITTSBURGH
Police said six people were hurt after a school bus and a minivan collided in Pittsburgh's Beechview neighborhood on Wednesday.
Investigators said the accident happened around 3 p.m. near Gladys Avenue.
Preliminary reports from paramedics indicate they took three people to UPMC Mercy hospital, including one 18-year-old student on the bus who had a wrist injury. Paramedics also reported that two people in the minivan were taken to the hospital.
One was the driver, a woman, 46, complaining of lower back pain and the other a 16-year-old front-seat passenger complaining of head and back injuries.
Three other people were to be taken to the hospital by private means with what paramedics described as very minor injuries.
It is not immediately clear what school students on the bus attend but Brashear High School and South Hills grades 6 through 8 are located a short distance away.
