Report: Acadia Closes Deal to Acquire Mission Treatment Centers

Acadia Healthcare completed a deal to acquire Mission Treatment Centers, a substance abuse treatment provider that operates clinics in four states, on Feb. 1, according to a report published Wednesday by Seeking Alpha, an online financial market content service. A formal announcement regarding the acquisition, however, has not been made.

In its third quarter earnings report, Acadia announced it had signed letters of intent to acquire Mission Treatment Centers and the Massachusetts-based Whittier Pavilion. The latter deal is not believed to have closed yet, per Seeking Alpha.

Also according to the SA report:

• Citing data from Pitchbook.com, a financial data and software firm based in Seattle, Acadia’s purchase of Mission Treatment Centers—a $22.5 million cash deal, per a federally required 10-Q form released by Acadia—was completed on Feb. 1.
• The purchase is Acadia’s first since it acquired Pocono Mountain Recovery Center on June 30, 2016.

Mission Treatment Centers provides methadone maintenance treatment, as well as individual, group and family counseling services, at nine locations in Arizona, California, Nevada and Oklahoma. Additionally, Mission offers a detoxification program in California and uses Suboxone at its Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma, locations.

Acadia has scheduled its fourth-quarter earnings call for Friday. It will be the company’s first since the hiring of Debra K. Osteen as CEO in December.
