Anise Health Raises $1.2 Million in Pre-Seed

Anise Health, a digital mental health startup company, announced on Monday that it has completed a $1.2 million pre-seed to expand its services. The funding round was led by Kicker Ventures, along with participation from Gold House Ventures, Allston Venture Fund, and strategic angel investors.

Launched in California in 2022, Anise Health specializes in providing mental health services for persons of color, with a focus on Asian Americans. The company is expanding into New York and expanding its payer partnerships, according to a news release announcing the pre-seed.

The Anise Health suite of services offered includes individual online therapy, coaching, and self-guided resources, as well as group services that include psychoeducational webinars and workshops.

Octave Secures $52 Million to Fund National Expansion

Octave, a behavioral healthcare organization with operations in 7 states, announced on Thursday that it has secured $52 million in Series C funding that will drive a national expansion of its in-network, in-person, and virtual services. The funding round was led by Cigna Ventures, Novo Holdings, and Avidity Partners, along with participation from all of Octave’s existing institutional investors.

The company said in a news release that it plans to expand to all 50 states by the end of 2024, and also release several technology products to serve payer and provider partners. The company now has $86 million in total funding.

Monte Nido Adds PHP/IOP Program in Georgia

Monte Nido & Affiliates announced on Tuesday that it is adding a new day program for the treatment of eating disorders in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia.

Monte Nido Eating Disorder Center of Alpharetta will provide care for adolescents and adults of all genders with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and/or exercise addiction. The new facility will offer partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.

The Alpharetta location is Monte Nido’s third program in Georgia, joining Monte Nido Atlanta, which offers residential treatment for adults, and Clementine Atlanta, a residential program for adolescents.

ARC Health Adds Silver Lake Psychology to Portfolio

Silver Lake Psychology (SLP), a private practice mental healthcare provider group that serves California, Tennessee, Colorado, and Virginia, has become the latest provider organization to join the network of ARC Health, a Thurston Group portfolio company.

Founded in 2016, SLP offers a range of specialty services in multiple languages, with a focus on inclusivity and multicultural competency. The organization has engaged in collaborative care initiatives with health systems and other enterprise-level partners.
