Comvest Partners Acquires Your Behavioral Health Programs

Comvest Partners, a middle-market private investment firm, announced on Tuesday that it has acquired Your Behavioral Health, a behavioral health services platform based in Torrance, California. Your Behavioral Health is the 13th healthcare services platform within the Comvest private equity portfolio.

A provider of mental health and addiction treatment facilities for adults and teens, Your Behavioral Health operates 17 facilities in Southern California under a family of brands that includes Clear Recovery Center, New Life House, and Neuro Wellness Spa. The company offers clinical inpatient, outpatient, interventional psychiatry, and residential care. The company has specialized programs to treat depression, anxiety, trauma-related issues, addiction, and other mental health conditions.

Your Behavioral Health co-founders Mike Joly, the company’s CEO, and Chief Medical Director Martha Koo, MD, FAPA, FASAM, FCTMSS, will continue in leadership roles alongside Your Behavioral Health’s existing management team.

Discovery Behavioral Health Announces Leadership Moves

Discovery Behavioral Health (DBH) has announced an expansion of its leadership team that includes the following appointments:

  • Deandre Christianson as President, Eating Disorder Division, Outpatient Services
  • Cecelia Hunt as President, Eating Disorder Division, Residential Treatment Services
  • Joe Tinervin as President, Multiservice Facilities

Christianson returns to DBH after previously serving in various roles, including president of the the company’s Eating Disorder Division. Most recently, she was chief operating officer of Alsana, a regional eating recovery treatment provider. Christianson has more than 10 years of experience as a primary therapist, clinical and operational specialist, training director, and director of operations.

Tech Vendor Blueprint Announces $9 Million Series A Funding

Blueprint, a technology platform for mental health clinicians, announced a $9 million Series A funding round led by Ensemble VC and Lightbank, along with participation from Bonfire Ventures, Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, TAU Ventures, Data Tech Fund, and select angel investors.

Blueprint offers software for mental health providers to monitor patients between sessions and generate data-driven “blueprints” for clinicians at point-of-care to help inform treatment decisions. The Chicago, Illinois-based firm serves about 4500 clinicians across 34 states. Blueprint has raised $14 million to date and said in a news release that its new funding will go toward hiring in marketing, customer service, and engineering, as well as product and feature development.

Bloom Health Centers Opens Virginia Facility

Bloom Health Centers, an operator of in-network, outpatient, multidisciplinary mental health treatment programs in the Mid-Atlantic region of the US, announced the opening of a new facility in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The new center is the organization’s 12th location. It will be led by Neel Nene, MD, MBA, who will serve as CEO and chief medical officer. Psychiatrist Sherief El-Mallah, MD, will also provide clinical direction.

Talkiatry Partners With Financial Tech Firm, Adds Executive

Talkiatry, a provider of in-network psychiatric care services, and Transact Campus, a mobile credential and payment solutions company, announced they’ve entered into a partnership to address mental health on college campuses. Per terms of the agreement, students will have access to Talkiatry virtually-focused psychiatric services through the Transact eAcounts app and within Transact Mobile Credentials. 

Transact serves more than 12 million students across more than 1800 client institutions, with its financial technology solutions facilitating $49 billion in payments per year.

Talkiatry also announced this week that it has appointed Eric Triana as its chief compliance officer. Triana previously spent more than 20 years working in a variety of roles for the US Drug Enforcement Administration, most recently within its Diversion Control Program. In his new position with Talkiatry, Triana will lead the organization’s compliance efforts across federal and state laws.
