Business Briefs: US HealthVest, Evernorth, Recovery Centers of America

US HealthVest has expanded Ridgeview Institute-Monroe, a psychiatric hospital in Georgia, by adding 23 beds at the 5-year-old facility. The expansion increases Ridgeview’s capacity to 111 beds overall.

Ridgeview Institute-Monroe offers specialized treatment programs for adolescents, adults, women, and dual diagnosis. Its treatment modalities include cognitive behavior therapy, trauma-focused therapy, illness management and recovery, and dialectical behavioral therapy. The Ridgeview Institute system is part of the US HealthVest portfolio of behavioral hospitals which serve Monroe and Smyrna, Georgia.

Cigna’s Evernorth Adds Monument Virtual AUD Treatment Services

Evernorth, the health services business division of Cigna Corp., has announced the addition of the Monument alcohol use disorder (AUD) virtual treatment platform to its behavioral health network. Monument services—which include therapy, prescription medications, and peer support—will be made available to Evernorth clients and Cigna health plan customers who receive healthcare coverage through their employer or marketplace exchange plans in 20 states.

Monument provides a virtual treatment program that includes specialized psychotherapy, physician-prescribed medications to treat AUD, and peer support services.

RCA Adds Co-Occurring Disorders Program at 5 Locations

Recovery Centers of America announced that its Balance program for the treatment of co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders will be made available at 5 of its locations:

  • RCA Capital Region in Waldorf, Maryland
  • RCA at Lighthouse in Mays Landing, New Jersey
  • RCA at Devon in Devon, Pennsylvania
  • RCA at Danvers in Danvers, Massachusetts
  • RCA Voorhees in New Jersey

The program will be expanded to additional RCA facilities in the coming months, RCA said in a news release. The Balance program, which incorporates dialectical behavioral therapy, is designed for patients enrolled at RCA inpatient and outpatient SUD treatment who have been diagnosed with a co-occurring mental health disorder, including:

  • Major depressive disorder
  • Anxiety disorder
  • Bipolar/manic depressive disorder
  • ADHD
  • Self-harm
  • Impulsivity
  • Borderline personality traits
  • Trauma
  • Significant interpersonal conflict/disrupted relationship history

Balance program treatment continues for up to 4 weeks of inpatient care. For patients in outpatient programs, treatment runs about 6 months, with an option for an additional 6 months.
