Massive Recall of IBS Med

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the voluntary nationwide recall of two medications made by Valeant Pharmaceuticals.

More than 564,000 bottles of chlordiazepoxide HCl, 5 mg and clidinium bromide, 2.5 mg are being recalled because the product failed degradation specifications. The products were manufactured by Valeant Pharmaceuticals International in Canada for Oceanside Phramaceuticals, a division of Valeant Pharmaceuticals North America. The impacts lots are too numerous to list here.

Additionally, more than 6,000 bottles of Librax (chlordiazepoxide HCl, 5 mg and clidinium bromide, 2.5 mg) capsules are also being recalled for the same reason. The impacted lots are #14L024P, with an expiration of June 2016 and #15E029P, with an expiration of April 2019. They were manufactured by Valeant Pharmaceuticals International in Canada for Valeant Pharmaceuticals North America.
