Alta Mira owners purchase Bridges to Recovery

Constellation Behavioral Health this week acquired Bridges to Recovery Inc. The deal adds psychiatric treatment to Constellation’s current capabilities of addiction and dual diagnosis.

Bridges’ two adult residential treatment facilities are located within the Los Angeles area, which Constellation company officials say complement the existing Alta Mira facility in the San Francisco Bay. It’s a relatively unique program because it primarily serves high-end clients with mental health disorders in a residential setting—a rare niche in behavioral healthcare.

“Bridges to Recovery is an internationally recognized leader in the cutting edge treatment of mood disorders, personality disorders, trauma, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders,” William Morrison, CEO of Constellation Behavioral Health, said in a statement. “They offer compassionate care from highly trained doctoral level clinicians, and their programs offer a natural complement to the addiction expertise provided through our Alta Mira Recovery Programs subsidiary.”

In early February, the Muir Wood Adolescent & Family Services residential and outpatient treatment programs were acquired from Constellation Behavioral Health by a small group of private investors, including its founder and executive director, Scott Sowle. It had been wholly owned by Constellation before the sale. Muir Wood now operates as a stand-alone program for adolescent treatment.
