Child Falls From Fla. Church Balcony
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. --
A 2-year-old boy who took quite a fall is recovering at Broward General Medical Center.
David Acosta was with his parents at their church off US-441 and Broward Boulevard when he somehow got out of their sight for a few moments. In that time he ran up to the second story of their church, climbed over a balcony, and fell two-stories into a parking lot below.
Witnesses said the boy was unconscious.
“It was a hard pain in my heart,” the boy’s father Jose Acosta told Local 10’s Jeff Weinsier.
Acosta said he then just started to pray, and moments later his toddler began crying. He was alert.
“I can’t believe it when I see my baby,” Acosta said.
Little David was taken to Broward General Medical Center where he will most likely stay until MOnday. Police have ruled the incident an accident. David suffered only some bumps and bruises.
