Seattle Firefighters Face Charges in Attack on Homeless Men

Firehouse.com News

Two off-duty Seattle firefighters are accused of beating a homeless man they found sleeping at a firefighters' memorial.

One of the firefighters, Scott Bullene, was stabbed during the brawl, according to KOMO.

Seattle police say Mia Jarvinen, Bullene's girlfriend, apparently started the incident by yelling and kicking the man.

The firefighters quickly joined in and attacked another homeless man; they took the man's walking stick and started hitting him with it, witnesses told officers.

When bystanders tried to intervene, the firefighters turned on them, punching one man in the face.

Robert Howell has been a Seattle firefighter for 17 years. However, he has been on disability since January.

Police said the trio was intoxicated when they attacked the men.
