Advanced Stroke Care Ambulance Visits Calif. Firehouse
San Jose, Calif. – San Jose Fire Department personnel received a first-hand look at the highest level of stroke care available courtesy of Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Centers Regional Medical Center of San Jose and Good Samaritan Hospital, the only two certified Comprehensive Stroke Centers in San Jose, and ProTransport-1, a provider of patient logistics services to hospital systems.
ProTransport-1, Stryker Neurovascular and Regional Medical Center personnel teamed up to visit three San Jose firehouses on Tuesday, where they provided responders with an inside look at a ProTransport-1 ambulance featuring a Stryker Neurovascular Simulator device replicating comprehensive stroke center treatment options available at Regional Medical Center, as well as Good Samaritan Hospital.
The custom-designed ambulance provides dedicated service. Beginning at San Jose Fire Department Station 1, the tour gave firefighters and paramedics at each location an opportunity to see how the system works and gain hands-on experience in the simulator.
