ELKHART, IN—Since 2001, Medix Specialty Vehicles has remained laser-focused on delivering high-value performance through efficient designs, repeatable manufacturing processes, and strong dealer and customer partnerships. During this year’s FDIC International in Indianapolis, April 23–25, 2026, Medix Ambulances will be celebrating 25 years of continued quality. Attendees can visit Booth #5377 to see two customer-ready units on display and help mark the milestone.
“Twenty-five years is a milestone built one ambulance at a time,” said Scott Cummings, Director of Sales at Medix Specialty Vehicles. “At FDIC, we’re honored to display two Medix ambulances that represent exactly what Medix stands for: dependable, high-value vehicles backed by strong relationships and a manufacturer that always shows up. We’re grateful to the departments and partners who have trusted us since day one.”
During the show, Medix will display an MSV-II 170 Type I on a Ford F-450 XLT gas 4x4 chassis built for the Evansville Fire Department in Indiana in dealer partnership with Penn Care. This unit is one of 11 on order for Evansville’s new fleet, a reflection of the strong relationship between department, dealer, and manufacturer.
The 170” x 96” module with 72” headroom provides crews room to move and manage patient care efficiently. The vehicle features Liquid Spring Suspension for improved ride quality, a stand-alone high-capacity HVAC system to maintain consistent climate control in all conditions, and Whelen M-Series LED emergency lighting to enhance scene visibility. Inside the module, blue LED floor lighting improves low-light awareness and provides patient comfort. Pro-4 Single Click seat belts support crew safety, while still allowing enough maneuverability to get their job done. A Knox MedVault safely secures medications, and a Stryker PowerLOAD system helps reduce lift strain and injury risk. The interior layout was designed specifically to match Evansville’s operational needs.
Medix will also showcase an AL 171 Type I on a Ford F-550 XLT diesel 4x4 chassis, on display in collaboration with authorized dealer partner North Eastern Rescue Vehicles. The largest in their lineup, this aluminum 171” module with 74” headroom offers expanded storage and long-term durability.
The AL 171 ambulance on display is designed with a door-forward layout to support workflow. Liquid Spring Suspension enhances stability and comfort, while a stand-alone HVAC system supports dependable climate control. The Whelen M-Series LED lighting with Whelen CenCom Core System allows programmable lighting patterns to match any fleet. An Opticom Traffic Emitter improves intersection safety and response efficiency. Increased entry door height and stepwell LED lighting enhance access and visibility. A Stryker PowerLOAD system reduces physical strain, and the interior layout, including a head-of-bench workstation, was built to make daily operations more efficient and effective.
