Tennessee County Extends Contract With Priority Ambulance

NEWPORT and KNOXVILLE, TN—The Cocke County Commission has voted unanimously to approve a five-year extension of its contract with Priority Ambulance for emergency and nonemergency medical transportation services. 

This extension, which includes an additional five-year extension, follows a three-year contract awarded to Priority Ambulance in May 2022, which included an option for a five-year renewal. Priority Ambulance and its predecessor, First Call Ambulance, have continuously provided 9-1-1 service to Cocke County residents since 2012. Priority Ambulance acquired First Call in October 2021.

"Our relationship with Priority Ambulance just keeps getting better. We make a great team,” said Rob Mathis, Cocke County Mayor.

Priority Ambulance's East Tennessee operations also include 9-1-1 service in Loudon County and interfacility services in Knox and Blount counties.
