CardioComm Solutions, Inc. and GE Healthcare Extend Successful OEM Agreement for Three Years
10/24/2011
CardioComm Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of innovative hardware and software solutions for cardiovascular health management, announced the extension of its current OEM agreement with GE Healthcare. The agreement renewal means both companies will continue to play a role in the expanding cardiovascular monitoring and diagnostic devices segment, forecast recently by MarketResearch.com to grow at a CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of 5% between now and 2017.
Approximately three years ago, CardioComm Solutions revealed plans to ship its Global ECG Management System (GEMS) software as part of a multiyear North American licensing, and subsequent OEM, agreement with GE Healthcare. Since then, GE has rebranded CardioComm’s GEMS as GE's noninvasive arrhythmia analysis and diagnostic data management systems, called MARS® Event Station and MARS Event Station Lite. The collaboration has been beneficial for both companies as the new systems provide a high level of flexibility and stability to the cardiac arrhythmia management environment.
Etienne Grima, CardioComm Solutions CEO, said, “Our collaboration with GE began in the fall of 2008 and initial sales in ‘09. Our GEMS software proved to be highly compatible with GE hardware and with the majority of loop recorders in the marketplace. We’re proud to say that the MARS Event products have been well received and continue to provide customers with both reliability and ease of use. Consequently GE has chosen to extend our agreement and their financial commitment with us for another three years.”
Derek Wagner, Chief Marketing Officer of Patient Care Solutions, GE Healthcare, added, “We are committed to providing our customers with continued and improved Ambulatory ECG Event management solutions. CardioComm has been a preferred supplier of these solutions, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration.”
