Medical Device Specialist Training & Placement Program Announces Scholarship Opportunity for Veterans

PrepMD, a leading post graduate training and placement service in the medical device field, announced a scholarship opportunity for veterans and non-active service members. PrepMD is a six-month training program designed to prepare trainees for a career in the highly desirable, growing field of medical device technology and healthcare. Graduates exit the program job-ready and prequalified for careers in the industry with base income packages of $100,000. The scholarship opportunity for veterans is available for each of the three sessions offered by PrepMD throughout the year. “We are thrilled and honored to offer this scholarship to veterans,” said Co-Founder and Managing Partner Matt O’Neal. “The skills necessary to serve in the armed forces, such as leadership, determination and intellect are the same skills needed to succeed in a career in the demanding medical device and healthcare industry.” PrepMD offers an intensive six-month training program with up to 20 trainees per session. Students receive approximately 1,000 hours of course work tailored to the exact needs of this burgeoning industry. The classroom instruction is complemented with hands-on work at PrepMD’s simulation labs and a 13-week clinical rotation program in major medical centers around the greater Boston area. “This is an innovative company that is revolutionizing medical device training,” said Quincy Collins, graduate of PrepMD and former Senior Lieutenant in the United States Navy. “I use the technical, managerial and leadership skills I acquired in the Navy in my current position as an Arrhythmia Specialist in the Cardiac Diagnostic Department at Orlando Health. PrepMD not only fully prepares you for your new career; it also helps place you in the industry. I had a job offer before I even graduated.” PrepMD gives trainees the added benefit of career counseling and placement. Over 85 percent of graduates have been placed in careers with the largest medical device and health care companies prior to graduation. “This scholarship is a great opportunity for any veterans looking to transition into a fast-paced, technical field that is currently experiencing growth,” said Co-Founder and Managing Partner Bob Mattioli. “We are looking forward to welcoming a larger number of veterans into the program in the year ahead.” To learn more about this scholarship opportunity or to apply, interested applicants should visit www.prepmd.com or contact Greg Lisi at 888-633-7737.
