Parent Heart Watch Board Member Appointed To Key Post By President Obama
President Obama announced the appointment of six individuals to serve on the Commission to Eliminate Child Abuse and Neglect Fatalities, and Parent Heart Watch (PHW) board member, Theresa "Teri" Covington, is among those named.
Covington is the Director of the National Center for the Review and Prevention of Child Deaths, a position she has held at the Michigan Public Health Institute since 2003. She joined the PHW Board of Directors in May 2010 and has been instrumental in bringing her expertise in public health to the organization.
"Teri has been providing guidance and support to PHW and its members from day one," said PHW Board Chair, Martha Lopez-Anderson. "Her background in public health, specifically as it pertains to the health and safety of children and young adults, has been invaluable to our organization. We are truly honored to have Teri on our board."
