Two Men Hurt After Crashes Into Mich. Military Convoy

GRATIOT COUNTY, Mich. --

Two 20-year-old metro Detroit men were airlifted to a hospital after a crash involving a military vehicle on Friday.

Michigan State Police said a Dodge Stratus was traveling northbound on U.S.127 near Washington Road when the driver lost control and swerved into the path of a military convoy just before 1 p.m.

The passenger had to be extricated from the vehicle by Ithaca Rescue. according to the police report.

The passenger and driver were transported by ambulance to Gratiot Medical Center in Alma, then flown to a Lansing hospital. Their conditions are not known.

Police said the military convoy was traveling to Camp Grayling when the crash occurred. No one in the military vehicle was injured.

U.S. 127 was closed for about one hour as troopers conducted their on-scene investigation.
