AMR Executive Receives Award for Safety

Ron Thackery, American Medical Response (AMR) Senior Vice President of Professional Services and Integration, has been named a recipient of the National Safety Council's 2007 Distinguished Service to Safety Award. It is the highest award given to individuals by the National Safety Council for outstanding service in the field of safety. The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of safety and who have expended considerable efforts by serving on a board, division, section or committee of the National Safety Council.

Thackery is being recognized for his efforts to pioneer safety concepts in the emergency medical services industry. He has played an instrumental role in establishing safety practices for emergency medical services caregivers and providers in North America. These include programs to reduce employee injuries, vehicle collisions and patient injuries while ensuring a quality of care that distinguishes AMR from other emergency medical service providers.

This remarkable achievement recognizes Ron's commitment to placing the health and safety of employees, patients and everyday citizens at the forefront of his work as a safety professional," said Don S. The award was presented October 15 at the National Safety Council's 95thAnnual Congress, held in Chicago.
