Pa. Man Accused of Impersonating Paramedic, Advising Man Against Treatment

A Middletown man is facing criminal charges after police said he impersonated a paramedic and told a man suffering a medical emergency that he did not need to go to the hospital.

Zachary Charles Helsel, 20, is charged with impersonating a public servant and recklessly endangering another person. Both crimes are second-degree misdemeanors.

Helsel on Dec. 3 represented himself as a paramedic as his co-worker was suffering from a medical emergency, Swatara Township police Det. Eric Morris wrote in charging documents.
