Exercise Band Users Report Contact Dermatitis

Some users of the FitBit Force activity monitoring wristband are reporting skin irritations that the company says might be due to the nickel, which is "an element of surgical-grade stainless steel used in the device,” according to an article in Digitaltrends.com.

The FitBit Force tracks users activities, including steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned, stairs climbed and active minutes throughout the day. At night, it tracks sleep disturbances silently with a vibrating alarm. The company notes it is investigating the skin irritation claims and will refund users' money or replace with another model.
