If you knew your patient with an infection would be dead in 18 hours, would you do anything different now? As sepsis progresses to septic shock, and the patient slips into a deadly spiral of cellular hypoperfusion, the healthcare team must identify and control the source of infection before multiorgan failure occurs. Could we have predicted this earlier? In addition to being able to identify and differentiate the patient in sepsis vs. septic shock and to begin appropriate treatment, participants will learn how the timely use of the qSOFA score prevents impending doom.
