Frank Siebenhaar, MD, obtained his MD from the Universitätsmedizin Mainz, Germany. After completing his doctoral thesis at the Department of Dermatology in Mainz, he pursued a postdoctoral fellowship in Experimental Pathology and Immunology at Harvard Medical School, US, from 2007 to 2009. He continued his academic career at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, where he became board-certified dermatologist and allergist. He is head of patient care at the Institute of Allergology at Charité and preclinical development at the Fraunhofer Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology ITMP, Immunology and Allergology. His research focuses on the biology and pathophysiology of mast cell-associated diseases. He currently serves as president of the German Dermatological Research Association (ADF), chair of the European Competence Network on Mastocytosis (ECNM), and active member of several national and international scientific societies, including the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) and European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV).
