Tracy George, MD, is an academic physician and scientist, serving as chief scientific officer and president of innovation at ARUP Laboratories, the largest nonprofit clinical reference laboratory in the US. ARUP Laboratories is an enterprise of the University of Utah School of Medicine, where Dr George is a professor in the Department of Pathology. She completed her medical degree and pathology residency at the University of California San Francisco, with hematopathology and surgical pathology fellowships at Stanford University. She is an expert in the pathology of systemic mastocytosis and has authored more than 200 publications. Dr George is a cofounder of the American Initiative in Mast Cell Diseases (AIM) and currently serves as secretary/treasurer of AIM. She also serves on the European Competence Network on Mastocytosis (ECNM) Scientific Advisory Board. Dr George received the College of American Pathologists Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014 and the International Society for Laboratory Hematology’s Berend Houwen Memorial Lecture Award in 2025.
