The advent of noninvasive testing methods for liver steatosis and the approval of 2 drugs to treat MASLD and MASH has positioned clinicians in primary care and internal medicine to screen, diagnose, and manage patients with these conditions.

Still, multidisciplinary care involving hepatologists, endocrinologists, registered dietitians, and exercise physiologists remains important in designing treatment plans that incorporate lifestyle changes and regular monitoring to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
