Venous leg ulcers (VLUs) are a challenging condition for providers; they are a complication of chronic venous disease resulting from venous valvular incompetence and venous hypertension. In this article, Robert Klein, DPM, presents an overview of VLU clinical presentation and diagnosis, possible treatment plans, and a report of an elderly patient with a VLU of the left leg.
